Susan Braverman

Susan R. Braverman is an executive coach and organizational development consultant who provides leadership development services to individuals and teams in the federal government, for-profit, and non-profit organizations. With her background in systems theory and her interest in both organizational and individual development, Susan sees clients both as individuals and in the context of their organizational setting. She makes use of various assessment instruments to help pinpoint areas of strength as well as those needing further development. With a focus on goal setting, challenge, accountability, and support, Susan encourages the growth of leadership competencies and a powerful sense of effectiveness in the leaders with whom she works. She is known for her directness, her insight, her ability to listen deeply, and to identify core issues for clients. She can then help them to develop appropriate strategies for addressing issues effectively and moving forward in their careers. She was part of the 2009 Metro DC ICF Prism Award winning coaching program for the U.S. Department of Commerce – International Trade Administration. This prestigious award is given to an organization that uses coaching to shift organizational culture and create profound results.

Ms. Braverman is a Professional Certified Coach, certified by the International Coach Federation, which is the worldwide governance and accreditation body of the coaching field. Ms. Braverman received her coach training from The Coaches Training Institute in San Rafael, Ca. In addition, she served on the Board of the Metro DC Chapter of the International Coach Federation – the largest chapter with over 800 members – for 6 years. In 2008, she served as President. She currently serves on the Independent Review Board (Ethics) of the Global International Coach Federation and coaches incoming chapter presidents. Ms. Braverman has provided leadership coaching services in 11 different federal agencies.

Her clients have ranged from GS 12 – SES. She has also worked with Fortune 500 companies, state and local governments, educational institutions, and emergency-response organizations. A sample list of subjects covered in coaching include; managing performance, executive presence, political savvy, communication skills, leading change, leading teams, managing conflict and stress, and emotional intelligence.

Ms. Braverman was a member of the 2009 Metro DC ICF Prism Award winning coaching team for the U.S. Department of Commerce – International Trade Administration. This prestigious award is given to an organization that uses coaching to shift organizational culture and create profound results. She continues to serve on this team. Ms. Braverman is certified to administer The Leadership Circle 360 and Culture Survey, The Hogan Personality Assessment, the PDI Profiler, the LPI 360, and the MBTI.

Training and Development

Ms. Braverman is expert in the area of crisis management, organizational change and stress, and workplace violence assessment and prevention. She has facilitated strategic planning and assisted in policy development in the area of crisis management, managing organizational change, and workplace violence. She has also developed and delivered training programs in those areas.
